Today's Equine Art - Secretariat
I break out of an artistic hiatus with another portrait of Secretariat, the big red horse who, even years after his death, still continues to inspire the masses. I was eleven years old when I watched him win the Belmont Stakes. It still gives me goosebumps. I'm so glad I got to see it happen live.
This is oil pencil, approximately 9 x 12".
Can't go wrong with Secretariat:-) Very nice portrait, and glad you broke your hiatus! Have you seen the movie yet? I'm curious to know how good it is... What brand of pencils are you using? I haven't really used oil-based before - have always been stuck on Prismacolors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica. Yes I have seen the movie. It was okay, but a little too "all Diane Lane, all the time." Would have liked to have seen more of what training Big Red entailed. I use Walnut Hollow's oil pencils... Love em.
