Today's Watercolor - Sheltie

I did this piece in a sort of painterly style, with strokes reminiscent of an oil base paint. I like the effect of the dog's fur, as if it is blowing around. It's about 11 x 15". It's on eBay.

Here is a Sheltie Agility design. The first letter of each line in the poem spells out, "Agility".

Today's Christmas Card - Sheltie

"The Blue Rug" is the title of this painting which shows the camaraderie between a Sheltie and his black cat buddy. I made it into a Christmas card with one of my favorite verses: "Faithful Friends who are dear to us..."

That just never wears out!

Beautiful fall day here in Southeast Michigan -- it's hard to think about Christmas right now.

Wednesday's Ornament - Sheltie

This watercolor is called "Squirrel Patrol". I actually found a photo of a squirrel raiding a bird feeder and wanted to paint that. But I incorporated the dog to make it into a little story that most dog owners can recognize. It's also one of my best selling Christmas cards.

I don't currently own a Sheltie -- I had one years ago when I lived in Alaska. I really enjoy painting them though and seem to be accumulating a collection of Sheltie Art. Maybe there will be another calendar in the works at some point.
